MEET THE MT. SPOKANE SKI PATROL

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

The Mount Spokane Ski Patrol is committed to skier safety and education, and to providing the finest first aid care possible to the guests of Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park. Look for one of the red jackets wherever you slide.

The Mount Spokane Ski Patrol is one of the largest all-volunteer ski patrols in the country and also one of the first, being formed in 1938.

TRAINED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS

The MSSP has alpine & telemark skiers, snowboarders, student patrollers, and non-skiing patrollers, plus a nordic patrol for Mount Spokane State Park Nordic Ski Area.

Our patrollers are trained to the highest standards set by the National Ski Patrol system. Each patroller must undergo over 120 hours of classroom, hands-on, and on-the-hill training for initial certification, plus annual refresher training sessions, and hands-on training throughout the season.

A HISTORY OF SERVICE

Formed on Mt. Spokane in 1938, Mt. Spokane Ski Patrol was one of the very first organized ski patrols in the country.

Today more than 150 proud volunteers donate significant time, training, and resources as Mt. Spokane Ski Patrollers.

Do you have what it takes to become a Mt. Spokane Ski Patroller? We host an annual recruitment event once a year. Be prepared for a dedicated time commitment and intense schooling your first year. Again, the first year is a huge time commitment and very challenging at times. However, completing the program and earning a place on the MSSP will be life changing and lifelong friendships will likely be developed along the way!
